Erroll Spence Jr is relishing the chance to face IBF World Welterweight Champion Kell Brook at Bramall Lane on May 27

Errol Spence Jr is predicting a "toe-to-toe" contest with Kell Brook after the pair's first press conference "sparked a fire".

And there were fireworks from the word go at the pair's first promotional meeting as the unbeaten American accused his rival of "living off two good rounds against Gennady Golovkin".

When the dust had settled he told Sky Sports News HQ: "I thought it was going to be a peaceful press conference, but then the coaches got into it and it sparked a little fire in us.

"It's a good press conference, that's what boxing's all about and it got the fight going. I'm sure there'll be a lot of people talking about it now.

"It's going to be a great fight from both sides. He's an exciting fighter too - he's a boxer-puncher, I'm a boxer-puncher. Our styles are going to clash and we're going to go in there and go toe-to-toe."

"I was able to stop both of them," said Spence Jr, whose 21-0 record includes 18 knockouts. "I think this fight is at the right time for my career.

"True fighters go into the champion's backyard and try to take the belt. That's what he did - he went to the United States and took the belt from Shawn Porter, and that's what I plan on doing."
