Burnett is attempting to win a world belt in his 17th fight, just like local hero Wayne McCullough, and is predicting passionate celebrations if he pulls off this feat.

"Belfast is a very proud city and I'm looking forward to giving Belfast another world champion," said Burnett.

"I moved away from home six years ago to get to this point where I am, and now I'm here, words cannot describe what it's going to mean to me.

"When I lift up that title, it very much will be an emotional occasion."

"It always gives you that push when you've got your home fans in your corner, so lucky enough for the first time in my career - that will be the way for me."

A talented amateur, Burnett has also demonstrated his power with nine knockouts in 16 wins, and has warned Haskins that he is willing to engage in an explosive battle.

"We are prepared for either," he said. "I like to stand and have a bit of a fight, so I think everyone knows that too. Honestly, I don't mind which way the fight goes."
