Hosea Burton believes that Joshua Buatsi is the most talented Olympian to have turned over this year and has tipped him to go all the way in the pro game.
Having made a successful start to life in the paid ranks back in July, via a dominant stoppage win over Carlos Mena, Buatsi will return to the ring this Friday night at York Hall, Bethnal Green, as part of the latest edition of the NXTGEN series.
The potential is all there for him to go very far. For me, he has more potential than all the other Olympians that turned over, he is the best one of this cycle.
The young Croydon light-heavyweight, an Olympic bronze medallist, will again be in action on the Anthony Crolla-Ricky Burns card in Manchester on October 7 as he looks to quickly adjust to life in professional boxing.
Despite having only made one appearance to date, former British light-heavyweight champion Burton has seen enough to suggest that 24-year-old Buatsi will be a major success.
Speaking exclusively to Sky Sports, 'The Hammer' said: "I watched Buatsi a lot as an amateur and he is a very special young talent.
"He's done great the way he represented the country in the Olympics and seems a good, humble man, I wish him all the luck and hope that he goes all the way.
"He has got a lot of learning to do and the pro game is different but it won't take him long to learn. He's got it all, boxing ability, power, good angles and movement.
"The potential is all there for him to go very far. For me, he has more potential than all the other Olympians that turned over, he is the best one of this cycle."
Live coverage of the NXTGEN bill, featuring Joshua Buatsi, Lawrence Okolie, Joe Cordina and Conor Benn, will start at 7.45pm on Sky Sports Action.
