Luke Campbell says he has the same mindset as the Olympics and hopes it will help him beat WBA champion Jorge Linares.

Trainer Jorge Rubio believes spending a full camp in America has given Luke Campbell the perfect opportunity to surprise Jorge Linares and become a world champion.

The Hull southpaw has been away from home for almost two months preparing to challenge the WBA world lightweight champion in Inglewood, California, in the early hours of Sunday morning, live on Sky Sports.

Campbell started preparations on home soil in July before flying out to Rubio's Miami base at the start of August after the Linares fight had been announced. They then switched to Los Angeles a month later, with Hurricane Irma heading for Florida.

This is the sixth fight the pair have worked together on and the coach believes the time away from home and moving across the Atlantic earlier than usual has put everything in place for 'Cool Hand' to succeed.

"He needed to separate (from the UK), he is spending time with the Rubio family and friends and I think that is a very good thing because he is more concentrated on an important fight," he told Sky Sports' Jon Beloff.

"We have an opportunity and I think Luke has everything to secure that victory because he was an Olympic champion, he fought lots internationally as an amateur and now he's a professional, he has been presented that opportunity.

"We are confident we will get the victory."

The pair have known each other for around 40 years and worked together with Cuban favourite Guillermo Rigondeaux and while all eyes will be on Campbell and Linares, the challenging coach is looking forward to going up against Salas.

"He's a great challenge for us," he said.

"He has a great history as a great boxing trainer who has worked with many world champions, in Japan, Thailand and other different places.
