Ryan Burnett weighed in slightly heavier than Zhanat Zhakiyanov and then announced that he can "definitely stop" the WBA 'Super' world champion.
The 25-year-old defends his IBF bantamweight belt against Kazakhstan's Zhakiyanov in a unification contest in Belfast this Saturday night, live on Sky Sports.
Burnett hit the scales at 8st 5lb 6oz, only slightly heavier than his bantamweight rival 'ZZ' who weighed 8st 5lb 4oz.
The Northern Irish star is confident that he has the right strategy to get the better of Zhakiyanov and Burnett believes victory will make him a 'great' champion in the sport.
He said: "I'm very confident, this is the fight I wanted. For me, this victory makes me a great world champion.
"I don't take anything from sparring 'ZZ' in the past, I was only young then, about 19 or 20-years-old, it was a long time ago.
"Since my last fight [against Lee Haskins], everything has doubled and we're expecting a very big crowd tomorrow night.
"Zhakiyanov's not a world champion for nothing. He's a great fighter but so am I. I do believe that I can definitely stop him.
"We've got a gameplan and we've built to do the right things and read situations."
Watch Ryan Burnett's unification clash with Zhanat Zhakiyanov, along with Paul Hyland Jr against Stephen Ormond, James Tennyson versus Darren Traynor, with Josh Kelly and Anthony Fowler also on the Belfast bill from 7.30pm this Saturday on Sky Sports Action.
