Katie Taylor will fight for the vacant WBA lightweight belt after champion Anahi Sanchez failed to make the weight limit at the second attempt.
The Irish star is targeting her first world title on the Anthony Joshua-Carlos Takam bill in Cardiff this Saturday night, live on Sky Sports Box Office, and weighed in at 9st 8lbs, inside the 9st 9lbs limit.
But Sanchez was too heavy at 9st 10lbs on her first trip to the scales and the Uruagayan could not shed the pound in the required time, meaning the title becomes vacant and only Taylor can win the belt.
Taylor shrugged off Sanchez's weight problems as she remains determined to become a world champion in just her seventh professional bout.
Speaking after Sanchez's first failed attempt, Taylor told Sky Sports News: "[Sanchez's missed weight] doesn't bother me. I've completely focused on my performance.
"My mind is purely on the fight. It's up to her to get the weight off.
"Tomorrow evening is definitely the biggest night of my career."
