Deontay Wilder came in at a lighter weight than Bermane Stiverne ahead of their WBC heavyweight world title clash.

Wilder, the unbeaten knockout artist from Alabama, hit the scales at 15st 10lb, while Haiti's Stiverne weighed 18st 3lb.

Stiverne is the only fighter to take Wilder the distance in a fight and after their first clash two years ago, the pair meet again on Saturday night at the Barclays Center, Brooklyn, live on Sky Sports.

Ahead of his WBC title defence against Bermane Stiverne this weekend, Deontay Wilder claims Britain's Anthony Joshua is avoiding him

Wilder, 32, seems on the brink of a showdown with either Dillian Whyte or WBA and IBF world champion Anthony Joshua and he has vowed to make a statement in his fight with 'B. WARE'.

At Thursday's press conference, he said: "It's been a long road for me. I've had my ups and my downs. The ups I've celebrated, but the downs have hurt the most. It's all led me to here.

Promoter Eddie Hearn outlined his 2018 plans for Anthony Joshua and says his fighter will give the fans the fights they want to see

"All I ever wanted to do is prove to the world that I am the best. I am the baddest. I hit the hardest. I am the most feared. My record speaks for itself.

"This will be an electrifying fight. That belt isn't going anywhere. I will unify the division. Soon, I will be the undefeated, undisputed heavyweight champion of the world."
