Bellew vs Haye 2: Our Sky Sports sporting panel predict the Tony Bellew and David Haye rematch
Redknapp, Hussain, Greenwood, Lazenby, Carney and more
Last Updated: 05/05/18 10:31pm
With Tony Bellew and David Haye set to trade blows for a second time tonight, we asked some familiar faces from the sporting world what the outcome will be.
Football favourites Jamie Redknapp and Charlie Nicholas and cricket stars Nasser Hussain and David Lloyd are all in agreement, F1's Simon Lazenby and rugby league's Barrie McDermott give us in-depth views, while Will Greenwood and Brian Carney cannot see the same mistake being made twice.
See what they think and go to the bottom to give us your winner...
I think we might end up getting a third fight here, if it's a good one. I've got a feeling David Haye might win this one and then hopefully we'll get that third fight, which would be great. I like them both.
We've had both of them on A League Of Their Own and I'm fond of both. But I've just got a feeling Haye will win this one. I'm going along on Saturday night and I'm looking forward to it - it's an exciting match-up.
The upset of 2017 saw Bellew beat Haye and if he were to manage a similar result on Saturday it would mark him out as a special, special boxer - but my money is on David Haye.
Superstars like David Haye just don't get done twice.
I used to go and watch Frank Bruno at Wembley and have always enjoyed watching heavyweights slog it out. We've seen Haye mouthing off that he will fight AJ if he wins this, which I think he will, but Joshua is at a different level and I think he'd get knocked out quite easily.
I just think the injury was the difference last time and Haye will win by a knockout out, then Bellew will probably blame Sam Allardyce!
Coming in lighter
Tony Bellew and David Haye will both be lighter for their rematch, after weighing in on Friday.
Watching Johnny Nelson on the Gloves are off and he had Haye vs Bellew…or is it Bellew v Haye? There's a massive argument there.
Those two would pick a fight in a phone box! But what a fight it will be on Saturday. Who do I think will win? No question about it - Haye will win and that will make it 1-1 and then a decider!
The first fight was enthralling. Everyone thought Haye's Achilles cost him but let's not forget Bellew broke his hand in the second. If either lose, that is it for them, career over. So its down to desire?
Haye is the favourite but I think he's lost the support of the general public after not fulfilling his amazing potential. On that strength, despite Haye being the superior athlete, I reckon with his massive heart and the crowd on his side, Bellew comes out on top on points.
I loved this fight first time around. I'm a big fan of Tony Bellew - we have some mutual friends who tell me how humble he is day to day, but he then flicks a switch and turns into the ultimate showman, while Haye is a polarising character who showed unbelievable bravery last time.
Haye is the bigger fighter and looks highly motivated for the rematch, however I think that Bellew will try to outwork his opponent. I've got my fingers crossed for the same outcome - Bellew to win but I sincerely hope we have the same entertainment.
I make David Haye slight favourite - providing he doesn't let Bellew get under his skin and disrupt his game-plan. Judging by this week's build-up, both fighters will find it tough to keep their emotions in check and those early rounds will be crucial.
Haye needs to go out hard in the first six and get the job done by the eighth round otherwise Bellew could get back at him.
I agree with Nasser! David Haye will look to be much more planned this time around and should have enough to come out on top.
Bomber wants a slug-fest, but Hayemaker won't get drawn in this time around. Haye to win, for me.
