WBA and IBF lightweight champion Katie Taylor believes there are "huge fights to be made in women’s boxing".
Taylor, the first woman to headline a boxing event in the UK, believes the growing support of women's sport is proof of the progress being made.
"It has got better and better," Taylor told Sky Sports News, as part of the #ShowUp initiative. "For the first time in a long time, people are seeing the best of women's boxing.
"People's perception of women's sport has definitely changed and that has shown in the amount of people who are going to these events."
Taylor, who won gold at the London 2012 Olympic Games, added: "Women's boxing is definitely on a high at the moment.
"Especially in and around my weight division, there are some great champions, some great fighters and there are some huge fights to be made in the women's game."
Taylor became unified champion after clinching the IBF lightweight title from Argentina's Victoria Bustos in April.
When asked about her next fight, she said: "I hope to be in action really soon - maybe by the end of July I'll have a fight.
"I have the WBA and IBF belt but that's only the start for me. I hope to be the undisputed champion by the end of the year."
#ShowUp is a new initiative from Sky Sports and the Women's Sport Trust to encourage support in women's sport by watching, attending or playing.
Sky Sports are giving away 5,000 tickets to women's sports events this year, with thousands of #ShowUp hairbands distributed to support the campaign.
