Promoter David Higgins has revealed it took just 48 hours to make the deal for a fight between Dillian Whyte and Joseph Parker.

Eddie Hearn believes the winner of Dillian Whyte against Joseph Parker will close in on a rematch with Anthony Joshua.

The heavyweight challengers will meet at The O2, London, on July 28, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

Joshua stopped Whyte in seven rounds back in 2015, while Parker became the first fighter to take him the distance in March, which saw him lose the WBO title in Cardiff to the British star.

Hearn expects this to be a final eliminator for the WBO and with both fighters ranked by the other governing bodies, he believes a rematch could be on the horizon for the winner.

"There are some fighters out there who won't sit on their ranking, who aren't afraid to take a chance, who will roll the dice," he told Sky Sports.
