There's plenty going on either side of the Atlantic so who better to look at the upcoming fights and the fighting talk, than Sky Sports' Jamie Moore...

Sergey Kovalev takes on the one and only Bernard Hopkins this weekend, so is there any chance of The Executioner springing another surprise?

Bernard Hopkins
Image: Bernard Hopkins: tales on Kovalev

Jamie says: I honestly think if there is anyone out there who is clever and crafty enough to do that it is Bernard Hopkins. Kovalev is such a formidable opponent, especially with his power, and while I wouldn't say he has Golovkin's boxing ability, he does carry the same devastating punch power. He is not as subtle and he doesn't sneak into range and against Hopkins, that could be his downfall because if there's one man who can get you off-set, mess up your rhythm, your timing and your distance, it's Hopkins. And as soon as that happens, Kovalev will get frustrated and you just know Hopkins is going to make the most of it - and he barely gets hit more than 20 times in any 12 rounder! But it only takes one from Kovalev and as soon as that lands, Bernard's chin has never been in doubt, but he is going to go negative and stay out of his way. He might well take him the distance and not get hit, but he will lose on points and his trickiness is always worth watching!

Amir Khan takes on Devon Alexander and says Kell Brook would get beaten by the American. Do you agree?

I think Kell Brook has arrived on the world scene now and yes, we all had doubts about him when he took on Shawn Porter, but he proved us all wrong.
Jamie Moore

Jamie says: I'm not sure I agree with that. I think Kell Brook has arrived on the world scene now and yes, we all had doubts about him when he took on Shawn Porter, but he proved us all wrong. And now he is a world champion and they seem to grow in confidence and stature. Providing he can get the momentum back after that horrific injury, I think he will get better - and beat someone like Devon Alexander. Alexander is what I'd call 'an on-top fighter', who looks brilliant when he's controlling the action and has got you where he wants you but when someone's got him under the cosh and he's up against someone who can deal with his southpaw, unorthodox style he goes back into his shell. I think that plays right into Kell's hands and he and Khan will both put him in his place. And I actually think Amir will look really good against him; he deals with southpaws well and that speed is always a big factor.

Seeing Kell Brook going through physio after his stabbing, does it bring your bad memories flooding back?

Jamie says: I am delighted to see Kell talking about a comeback already but it is difficult for me because I am still struggling myself. I have got nerve damage in my leg so it is going to be a long, hard road for my recovery but from what I can gather, Kell hasn't got that so it is more superficial. That said, he has to get going again and anything like that is horrible. It is hard to take on, especially if you are still fighting. If what happened to me happened when I was still going, I would've been absolutely devastated - because this would probably have ended my career. Kell has probably come as close as you can to that and it is a real eye-opener so I am really looking forward to seeing Kell back in the ring, to see how he gets on. To get through such an horrific injury - never mind incident - you have to take your hat off to him but more than anything, I am hoping he realises he has got that second chance. He's had a lot of time to evaluate what went on, so now he knows he needs to make the most of it.

Andy Lee has got a world title shot in Las Vegas next month, against Matt Koborov? Can he do it?

Image: Andy Lee: gets a world title shot

Jamie says: It's a hell of a fight, even for a world title! Koborov is labelled pretty much as a southpaw slugger but we all remember he was a fantastic amateur and he achieved so much he obviously has good boxing skills and a good boxing brain. That said, Andy Lee is a great fighter and a great kid and I hope he can pull it off. But I am afraid that Koborov might carry a little bit too much firepower for him. He is better suited being back up at middleweight because down at light-middle, I would guess he felt a little too weak down there and I just think he's made the right decision going back up. Andy does punch hard as well, which is something no-one really gives him credit for and we know he is a smart, slick boxer as well, so he does have a chance. I can just see Koborov having a little bit more power. But I really hope I am wrong.

And of course, Tony Bellew and Nathan Cleverly clashed on Ringside. Who do you think came out on top?

The Gloves Are Off: next week

Jamie says: Tough one, but right now? I'd have to go 60-40 in favour of Bellew. Everyone thought he would go on Ringside all guns blazing, going hell for leather but he was a lot calmer than I thought. The Gloves Are Off might be different because he is never going to like Cleverly, but he does seem to be in control of his emotions. He seems more laid-back and relaxed than usual, whereas I thought Nathan's body language was a little off. He didn't really want to face him, he looked a little bit edgy... at least to me. There is no problem with that either because that might mean Nathan has those butterflies in his stomach and he is not biting, so far. They both talk and play a good game but I just thought Bellew looked the calmer of the two. Having said that, those jitters, those nerves bring the best out of you. It is only Round One and it's close already.
