Anthony Joshua sent message to Deontay Wilder after win over Joseph Parker

As Anthony Joshua considers his next career move, we asked The Panel of experts to pick out an opponent for the unified heavyweight champion.

Joshua added the WBO belt to his IBF and WBA 'super' titles with a points win over Joseph Parker at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

The British star hopes to finally secure a fight with Deontay Wilder, who holds the last remaining WBC belt, as he bids to become the undisputed champion in the top division.

Our pundits debate who is the world's best heavyweight

But other title contenders could force their way into Joshua's future plans and our experts have revealed who they think should be in the opposite corner for AJ's next fight...

Carl Froch

I did think Josh needed one more fight before Wilder, against someone like Jarrell Miller, and I would like to see him fight out in America, but there is one man who has changed my mind - Joshua.

Yes, he showed he can be disciplined and stick to a game plan, but now we all want to see if he can knock Wilder out.
Carl Froch

He called him out and said he will spark him out, so we all want to see him prove it, straight away.

Yes, he showed he can be disciplined and stick to a game plan, but now we all want to see if he can knock Wilder out. I want it to be at Wembley, in the late summer, so we can see.

There are all sorts of things going on, like the Alexander Povetkin mandatory position with the WBA. Jarrell 'Big Baby' Miller is also knocking on the door - and if I was a promoter, I would probably string it out as long as possible.

I would like to see him fight Deontay Wilder next. The best fighters will bring out the best performance.
Johnny Nelson

But, like everyone else, I would like to see him fight Deontay Wilder next. The best fighters will bring out the best performance, and they are on that same level. We know they are world champions, but I am sure both can improve. Joshua against Wilder, would show us that.

They should do it in the summer, another big fight at Wembley Stadium. Do it next.
Dave Coldwell on Joshua-Wilder

I would like to see the Deontay Wilder fight next. That's the fight that the whole world wants to see, to be honest. They should do it in the summer, another big fight at Wembley Stadium. Do it next.

If it's not Wilder now, his mandatory is Povetkin, and I would like to see Joshua smash him up. Get rid of his mandatory with Povetkin and then move on. If he's going to go to America before the Wilder fight, then Jarrell Miller could make sense.

Jamie Moore

Fighting someone like Alexander Povetkin is certainly dangerous, but will have nowhere near as much anticipation, excitement and reward, as fighting Wilder.
Jamie Moore

I think it has to be Deontay Wilder. Anthony Joshua was right when he said everyone has had to go over to Las Vegas or New York for the big fights, but he is the one controlling the shots, so they need to come over here - and Wilder wants to.

Highlights as Joshua sealed points win over Joseph Parker

Fighting someone like Alexander Povetkin is certainly dangerous, but will have nowhere near as much anticipation, excitement and reward, as fighting Wilder. It needs to be done sooner rather than later, especially if they want all four titles on the line. I always say strike while the iron's hot.

Matthew Macklin

I think it would make the Wilder fight an even bigger event, if he can go out to America first.
Matthew Macklin

I would like to see him fight 'Big Baby' Miller first, out in New York, in the summer. I think it would make the Wilder fight an even bigger event, if he can go out to America first.

Jarrell 'Big Baby' Miller challenges Joshua to make debut in America against him

Yes, a fight with Wilder will be massive, and Wilder was talked about before the Parker fight was made, but I've always thought it needs time to build and build. The momentum will increase and someone like Miller, out in America, will make sure more people are watching if it does happen.

Tony Bellew

I personally would like to see him knock Alexander Povetkin clean out.
Tony Bellew

Alexander Povetkin will be mandatory, but I'm sure Anthony Joshua will want to shut Deontay Wilder up. It doesn't matter though, because he's the No 1 heavyweight in the world and has three of the major world heavyweight titles, so he's the man.

I personally would like to see him knock Alexander Povetkin clean out.

Paulie Malignaggi

I want to see Joshua fight Wilder this year, so I would love to see it next. It's a situation where you could get two fights, maybe three, like a Evander Holyfield- Riddick Bowe trilogy. It would really be something.

If you're going to have a long rivalry between these two, you probably want to get the first one out of the way this year.
Paulie Malignaggi on Joshua-Wilder

If you're going to get that, you have to start now because even the Holyfield-Bowe trilogy took years. If you're going to have a long rivalry between these two, you probably want to get the first one out of the way this year.

Spencer Oliver

The dream fight we would all like to see is Deontay Wilder, reason being that Anthony Joshua has the chance to become the undisputed champion. That's what he wants, it's a fight that could possibly happen, and both teams seem to be keen on making the fight.

My No 1 choice would be Wilder, because I believe the timing is right for both of them now, and Joshua can go on to hold all the titles.
Spencer Oliver

If not Wilder, then we have just seen Alexander Povetkin, or maybe Kubrat Pulev, but my No 1 choice would be Wilder because I believe the timing is right for both of them now, and Joshua can go on to hold all the titles. I've said from day one that he will become undisputed champion of the world.
