Sunfoil Dolphins continued their Ram Slam struggles without Kevin Pietersen as they lost to bottom-placed VKB Knights.

Sunfoil Dolphins continued their Ram Slam struggles without Kevin Pietersen as they succumbed to bottom-placed VKB Knights by eight wickets.

The Dolphins won their first four matches of the campaign, during which time Pietersen, who is now gearing up for a stint in the Big Bash with Melbourne Stars, clobbered two centuries.

But the Durban side have now lost three of their last four games since the former England man's exit - as well as their final one with him - following Saturday's thumping in Port Elizabeth.

Dolphins could only muster 82-9 from their 20 overs as Knights seamers Malusi Siboto (3-14) and Andre Russell (3-15) shared six wickets and medium pacer Shadley van Schalkwyk bowled three overs for eight runs.

Knights chased down their target in 13 overs - Theunis de Bruyn (42no) and Aubrey Swanepoel (30no) posting an unbroken third-wicket stand of 75 from 61 balls - to pick up just their second victory of the campaign following Wednesday's 29-run triumph against Lions.
