Joe Root’s magnificent innings ends when looking for a run off a ricochet into the non-striker’s stumps

Joe Root was run out after a mix-up with England team-mate Ben Stokes during the third ODI against South Africa.

Root (125) had scored his seventh ODI century, and Stokes smacked a 33-ball fifty, but their running between the wickets wasn't quite so impressive.

Joe Root said it was disappointing to be run-out with just 10 overs left but he admitted it was his fault for the mix-up

Root wasn't angry with being sacrificed, though, despite notching his fourth ton in a year, blaming himself for the error.
