County Championship Division Two: Kent ease to win over Glamorgan

Kent wrapped up a 10-wicket victory over Glamorgan early in the afternoon session on day four as Daniel Bell-Drummond and Tom Latham finished unbeaten on 86 and 79, respectively.

Requiring 187 for victory, Kent resumed on 22-0 after centuries from David Lloyd and Graham Wagg had given Glamorgan a glimmer of hope on day three.

However, Bell-Drummond, who only made 84 in the first innings, and Latham batted solidly, both men passing 50 for the second time in the match before seeing Kent over the line in the 49th over of the innings.

Kent had been in control of the match since day one, having bowled Glamorgan out for 260 and then established a first innings lead of 228 and pick up 24 points from the win.

Alastair Cook added an unbeaten 48 to his first innings century as Essex and Worcestershire played out a draw at New Road.

Having started the day on 226-5, Worcestershire eventually declared on 411-8 with 21-year-old Tom Kolher-Cadmore finishing unbeaten on 119. Graham Napier was the pick of the Essex bowlers with 4-127.

Nick Browne (8) and Tom Westley (20) fell in the reply but Cook and Ravi Bopara (12 not out) ensured there was to be no late drama and remained in the middle until the sides agreed to a draw.

There were centuries for Richard Levi and Chesney Hughes on the final day at the County Ground as clash between Northamptonshire and Derbyshire ended in a draw.

Northants started the day on 438-7, leading by 114 runs, and added just 32 to their score before they were bowled. There was time for Levi to add the 16 runs he needed to bring up his ton, the 28-year-old South African making 104 before being the last wicket to fall.

In reply, Derbyshire's opening pair of Hughes and skipper Billy Godleman racked up 215 between them, Hughes bringing up his second century of the season in the process, before Godleman fell six short of 100 - dismissed hit wicket by Jake Libby.

The match was brought to a close soon after with Derbyshire 229-1 and Hughes 109 not out.

Sussex did enough to hold on and secure a draw against Leicestershire on day four at Hove with Chris Nash scoring 144.

Starting the day on 113-0, still by 197 runs, Sussex lost Ed Joyce (69) early. Matt Machan followed before too long but a 93 partnership between Nash and Ross Taylor (62) eased the hosts' nerves.

They were still more than 50 runs shy of Leicestershire's first innings total though when Taylor fell but Luke Wells and Ben Brown stayed with Nash to keep the visitors at bay.

Nash eventually went with the score at 342-5 and Sussex holding just a 32 run lead. However, with time running out, a lead of 67 established and four wickets still in hand, a draw was agreed upon.
