Worcestershire director of cricket Steve Rhodes will join England's coaching staff for a three-week spell encompassing the Test series in Bangladesh.

The 52-year-old worked with England Lions either side of Christmas during their tour of the United Arab Emirates, where they played against Pakistan A in limited-overs matches.

Rhodes will work alongside the senior team next month and will depart on October 10, 10 days before the first Test begins in Chittagong.

He will return on November 2, the day after the second and final Test in Dhaka concludes, in time for the beginning of Worcestershire's winter training programme.

He said: "To get an opportunity to work with the first team for a short period in Bangladesh for the Test series is terrific. Hopefully I can learn a lot and bring some of it back to New Road.

"It is an opportunity for me to work with some very good players and very good staff and pick their brains and hopefully help a few people along the way. The end result is to try and do well for English cricket."

Ex-England one-day captain Paul Collingwood and U19 head coach Andy Hurry will join the management team for the ODI series.
