Umpire Paul Reiffel was forced to leave the field on day one of India and England's fourth Test in Mumbai after being struck on the head by a ball.
The Australian, standing at square leg, immediately fell to the floor when he was hit by a throw from India fielder Bhuvneshwar Kumar from the deep.
England's medical staff tended to a dazed Reiffel for around 10 minutes, before he walked off the field gingerly for further assessment.
The umpire headed to a local hospital for a scan - the results came up all clear but Reiffel was advised to sit out the rest of the game.
The 50-year-old was replaced on the field by third umpire Marais Erasmus, with Chettithody Shamshuddin undertaking third-umpire duties.
Shamshuddin was in the thick of the action early on day two, giving Ben Stokes out caught behind after deciding the England batsman got a conclusive edge through to Virat Kohli at slip.
