England claimed seven wickets, but dropped three catches on a frustrating second day of the first Test against Pakistan, which saw the visiting side progress to 350-8 by stumps – 166 runs ahead.

Click play on the video above to watch highlights from the day's play at Lord's, as Azhar Ali (50), Asad Shafiq (59), Babar Azam (68) and Shadab Khan (52) all struck fifties for Pakistan.

Shafiq, Babar and Shadab were all dropped, with Alastair Cook putting down two chances at first slip and Jos Buttler spilling one at third slip.

Ben Stokes - suspended for the Ashes and unable to bowl lengthy spells on the tour of New Zealand - was one positive for England, taking 3-73 in 22 overs littered with some fiery short-pitched bowling.

Two such Stokes deliveries did for Shafiq - a ball after being dropped by Buttler - and Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed (9), while Babar had to retire hurt after suffering a painful blow on the forearm by another Stokes bouncer.

James Anderson (3-82) claimed a couple of lower-order wickets late in the day, though Pakistan's lead is already a commanding one and Babar could still yet bat again on day three.
