Sir Mick Jagger has promised to reward outstanding batting and bowling performances in the Oval Test with donations to the Chance to Shine charity.

The legendary Rolling Stone and cricket fan has pledged £20,000 to the charity for every century or five-wicket haul recorded during the fifth Test between England and India, which gets underway on Friday, live on Sky Sports Cricket.

He will also fork out £10,000 each time a player from either side scores a half-century or takes three wickets over the course of the Test.

Jagger told ESPNcricinfo: "With every inspiring performance comes a new fan and the younger those fans are, the better it is for cricket's future.

"No pressure on either Joe Root's guys or Virat Kohli's - though the bigger they go at the Oval the better!"

Fans can follow Jagger's lead by donating to Chance to Shine - which works to make cricket available to young people in state schools and other communities - at chancetoshine.org/donate.

The England & Wales Cricket Board will match all donations until the end of September, pound for pound.
