It was an incredible morning session for Stuart Broad at Trent Bridge

The world of sport reacted in astonishment as Stuart Broad ripped through Australia's batsmen in 98 minutes in the fourth Investec Ashes Test at Trent Bridge.

With the tourists, who are 2-1 down, desperate to bounce back from their Edgbaston misery and keep the series alive, Broad grabbed the first of his seven wickets (and his 300th Test scalp) with the third ball of the day as Alastair Cook caught Chris Rogers.

Forcing skipper Clarke to flash at a wide one, the Nottinghamshire paceman secured his fifth wicket in the space of 19 deliveries. It was the fastest Test five-for in history.

Australia's collapse was complete 20 minutes before lunch after reaching 60 off 18.3 overs, while Broad's figures read: 8 wickets, 15 runs, 5 maidens, 9.3 overs.

Here's some of the reaction from around the world.....

"It's unbelievable. We bowled as a unit and the catching was very special."

Sky Sports expert Nasser Hussain

"Broad is a streaky bowler but he suddenly produces these spells like this from nowhere. When he’s on song there’s no one better. The bowling and fielding have been brilliant."
