Hampshire sign South African all-rounder Ryan McLaren for 2016

Hampshire have signed South African all-rounder Ryan McLaren as their overseas player for next season.

The 32-year-old played the last four LV= County Championship matches for the county last term as they avoided relegation from Division One and he will be available for all three formats in 2016.

McLaren has played two Tests, 54 one-dayers and 12 Twenty20 internationals for South Africa.

He said: "My first experience with the county at the end of the 2015 season was hugely enjoyable and I was delighted to play a part in helping the county retain first division status.

Hampshire director of cricket Giles White said: "Ryan came into the team at the back end of last season, impressed everyone and proved to be a great fit for us.

"He gives the team balance, is an excellent professional and performs in both red and white ball cricket."
