Steve Davies is to leave Surrey at the end of the season after turning down a new two-year contract.

The former England wicketkeeper has scored more than 10,000 runs across all formats for Surrey but a statement on the club's website explained the 30-year-old has decided he will "have greater opportunities elsewhere".

This weekend's Royal London Cup final at Lord's against Warwickshire looks likely to be his last match for the county.

Davies, who collected the last of his 13 ODI caps in 2011, has taken 322 catches and made 36 stumpings since joining Surrey from Worcestershire.

However, he is no longer first-choice keeper at The Oval, a slot now belonging to rising star Ben Foakes.
