Moeen Ali is confident England will adjust to the heat of Bangladesh and avoid a repeat of their World Cup upset.
The last 50-over meeting between the sides ended in a 15-run Bangladesh win in Adelaide in 2015 as England were eliminated at the group stage.
But Moeen has warned the hosts to expect an England side unrecognisable from the one which failed so badly in Australia when the three-match series begins on Friday.
He told Sky Sports News HQ: "I said from the start it's going to be a massive challenge. It's not an easy place to play with the conditions and the heat.
"But we've got a very good side now. It was a long time ago when they beat us and we're completely different to that team, so they'll be a bit wary as well."
England's poor performance in the World Cup contributed to an ECB overhaul which saw Trevor Bayliss brought in as coach, Andrew Strauss appointed as national director of cricket and a greater emphasis placed on limited-overs success.
England have since transformed their approach to ODIs and broke the world record for the highest team total when they posted 444-3 against Pakistan in the summer.
The tourists chased down 309 to win their only warm-up against a BCB Select XI on Tuesday, thanks in no small part to a stand of 137 between Moeen and Jos Buttler.
Liam Plunkett and Ben Stokes both needed treatment for cramps during the home side's innings.
"Heat is massive here," Moeen said. "The humidity is very, very high and you need to drink a lot of water. Some guys cramp more than others and I feel sorry for the bowlers, actually."
There are challenges for slower bowlers, too, and Moeen said of his off-spin: "The wickets are different, and there are different lengths needed. It's a case of getting used to conditions quickly and getting on with it.
"[One warm-up game] has to be enough so we have to get on with it. We've had a few good practice days and we feel like we're ready."
