Charlotte Edwards helped set a world record at Lord's on Monday in what she hopes is the first of an England double against Australia this week.

Edwards and fellow 2009 Women's Cricket World Cup winner Isa Guha linked up with the MCC and the Chance to Shine charity to help set a Guinness World Record for the largest cricket lesson at a single venue.

A total of 580 children from schools working with Chance to Shine participated in the 30-minute lesson on the Lord's pitch, smashing the previous mark set in Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground last December.

Fierce rivals England and Australia will meet in Sunday's World Cup final at the Home of Cricket, if as expected, they come through their respective semis against South Africa and India, both of which are live on Sky Sports.

"We did it," former England captain Edwards told Sky Sports. "We had six-hundred odd kids together down here and the record was 488 previously.

"That record was in Australia, so we've beaten the Australians once this week let's hope we can beat them again if we get in the World Cup final against them.

"I think it's already a full house for [the final] this weekend, which is brilliant. We could have only dreamed of that a few years ago.

"To have this ground full for a Women's World cup final, and England being here, would be the icing in the cake. And if they win it - it will be fantastic for women's cricket in this country.
