Lieuwe Westra snatched overall victory from Alexander Kristoff in the final stage of the Three Days of De Panne race in Belgium.

Katusha rider Kristoff lead the general classification heading into the final 14.2km time trial on Thursday but could not hold off the 33 year-old Dutchman, who finished 25 seconds quicker than the defending champion.

The final stage was won by Polish racer Maciej Bodnar (Tinkoff), who beat Tony Martin (Etixx-QuickStep) and Tom Bohli (BMC Racing) by a hundredth of a second.

Earlier in the day, Marcel Kittel (Etixx-Quick Step) avoided a late crash to take the third stage of the race, ahead of Kristoff and Bora-Argon 18's Phil Bauhaus.

Kittel, who was narrowly beaten by Team Sky rider Elia Viviani in the 211.1km second stage of the race yesterday, made no mistake after a large section of the peloton was taken out heading into the final straight.
