Distraught at seeing his favourite driver Kimi Raikkonen crash out of the Spanish GP, Ferrari made this young fan's day after inviting him to meet his hero

A young boy who was distraught after Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen crashed out of the Spanish GP got to meet his hero.

Young Frenchman Thomas was seen in tears watching on in the grandstand after Raikonnen retired on lap one, following a collision with Red Bull's Max Verstappen and Mercedes' Valtteri Bottas at the first corner of the race.

But the youngster and his family were tracked down by Ferrari and later invited into the paddock to meet Raikkonen, who gave him a Ferrari cap.

It was then smiles all around!

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton won Sunday's Spanish GP, ahead of Raikonnen's team-mate Sebastian Vettel. Vettel now leads the Drivers Championship by only six points.
