After the high-speed sweeps of Silverstone, F1 faces a very different challenge this weekend on the tight confines of the Hungaroring.

Described as "Monaco without the walls" by 2014 victor Daniel Ricciardo, the track doesn't place a great emphasis on engine power, meaning the field should be closely bunched than in recent races.

So read on below as Sky Sports provide your one-stop shop for everything you need to know about the grand prix weekend.

Form guide

Daniel Ricciardo capitalised on the timing of a safety car to take his second win of the season in Hungary last year. Prior to that, the form man was Lewis Hamilton who had taken two successive wins in addition to his 2007 and 2009 victories.

Jenson Button is the only other current driver to have won the race on more than one occasion.

2014 result: 1. Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull); 2. Fernando Alonso (Ferrari); 3. Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes); 4. Nico Rosberg (Mercedes); 5. Felipe Massa (Williams); 6. Kimi Raikkonen (Ferrari); 7 Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull); 8. Valtteri Bottas (Williams); 9. Jean-Eric Vergne (Toro Rosso); 10. Jenson Button (McLaren).

Last five winners at the Hungaroring: 2014: Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull); 2013: Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes); 2012: Lewis Hamilton (McLaren); 2011: Jenson Button (McLaren); 2010: Mark Webber (Red Bull).

Tyre allocation

Pirelli will bring the yellow-marked soft and the white-banded medium tyres to Hungary.

“We go from Silverstone – one of the fastest and most flowing circuits on the F1 calendar – to the Hungaroring, which is among the slower circuits with a seemingly non-stop series of technical corners," said Pirelli's motorsport director Paul Hembery.

“It’s a real challenge for the driver, car, and tyres as they are always working hard: apart from the pit straight, there is no real point on the circuit where there is any respite. One of the biggest challenges is the weather: it can be extremely hot in Budapest in July, and obviously this has a significant effect on thermal degradation. In order to find the right balance between performance and durability, we’ve selected the medium and soft tyres, which is the same nomination as last year.

“This selection is soft enough to provide the mechanical grip needed to negotiate all the corners, yet hard enough to withstand the punishing weather conditions and track layout of the Hungaroring. This is not always the easiest circuit to overtake on, so tyre strategy can make a real difference.”
