Nico Rosberg promised a big party after claiming his maiden world championship and the German was joined by friends, family and his Formula 1 compatriots as he celebrated into the night in Abu Dhabi.

Enjoying himself at Amber Lounge - a hotspot for drivers after grands prix - here's a selection of pictures of the German letting his hair down after a chaotic but triumphant season.
