Red Bull's Max Verstappen goes wide at Turn Five and the bumps caused a suspension failure in his Red Bull, in which he went straight on into the gravel.

Max Verstappen crashed out of Practice One at the Austrian GP following two separate incidents with the new kerbs at the Red Bull Ring.

Early on in the session he broke his front wing after running over the bumps, labelled 'sausage kerbs' or 'baguettes', but didn't come into the pits despite the debris on track.

"I think those yellow kerbs on the fast corners are really dangerous," he reported over team radio.

His RB12 was later repaired but having recovered, Verstappen's morning was then ended after running wide at Turn Five and across the kerbs, which caused a suspension failure.

Verstappen was unable to turn his wheels and carried straight on into the gravel trap, beaching the Red Bull. "It is unbelievable those yellow things," he added to his team.
