Kevin Long's loan spell at Accrington is over after he cracked a bone in his foot in Saturday's 2-1 win over Cheltenham.
The 20-year-old defender, who has returned to Burnley, impressed in his time at the Crown Ground and manager John Coleman was looking to extend the deal until the end of then season. Long will be out for three to four weeks, meaning the Reds could be forced to look elsewhere to bring in another defender on loan or there is the possibility Long could return before the January 31 transfer window deadline.
