Evans eyes last Millers signing

Rotherham's summer spending spree is set to come to an end with boss Steve Evans looking to bring in just one more player.

The Millers completed their 11th signing of the summer on Friday when striker Kieran Agard agreed to join the club, subject to a medical, but Evans has been rebuffed in his bid to bring in Tony Watt. When asked how many more new players fans can expect, Evans told the club's official website: "At the very most, one. My attempts to sign young Glasgow Celtic striker Tony Watt either on loan, or on a permanent basis have at this time come to nothing. "I've spoken to (Celtic manager) Neil Lennon and he's told me the lad is part of his plans and we must respect that. Neil has been very honest and genuine with me since we first spoke earlier in the summer and I accept his decision fully. "There are other players that we're considering, but we'll only move for them if they're better than we have. "The chairman was prepared to spend good money on Tony Watt and before that Matt Tubbs, but they're not for sale and we respect the decisions of the clubs involved."
