Brandt Snedeker secured a first PGA Tour win of the season without having to play a shot during the final day of the weather-delayed Farmers Insurance Open.
Snedeker had defied horrendous conditions on Sunday to post a three-under 69 and set the clubhouse target at six under before play was suspended, with none of the 49 players finishing their rounds on Monday able to match that total.
The world No 24, who only narrowly made the cut and went in to the final round six shots off the pace, had made a mockery of the strong winds and driving rain on Sunday to play 17 holes without a bogey, with a back nine 32 eventually being pivotal in securing a one-stroke win ahead of KJ Choi.
Overnight gales left fallen trees and lots of debris around Torrey Pines, causing a further two hour delay to the restart on Monday and leaving tournament officials stopping spectators from entering the venue.
When play resumed in strong winds at 10am local time, overnight leader Jimmy Walker immediately slipped in to a three-way tie for the lead alongside Snedeker and Choi with a blemish at the par-four 11th.
Choi and Walker both found the greenside bunker at the 13th and two putted from distance for par, before the pair handed Snedeker the outright advantage by missing their par save putts.
Walker almost holed an unlikely par save at the next but saw his chip from the rough at the back of the green stop next to the flag, temporarily joining Kevin Streelman on four under.
A three-putt bogey at the 17th ended Walker's victory hopes, while Choi trickled in a five-footer at the same hole to head to the last needing a birdie to force a play-off.
After staying on the fairway with his drive and approach in to the par-five, Choi's third shot found the top slope of the green and could only two putt from distance for par.
A four-over 76 was enough for Choi to claim outright second, as Streelman finished third ahead of Walker and Freddie Jacobson.
JB Holmes and Jonas Blixt ended the week in a tie for sixth on two under, with Billy Horschel part of the group a further stroke off the pace.
A final-hole birdie from Paul Dunne saw the Irishman end his PGA Tour debut level par alongside compatriot Shane Lowry, while Dustin Johnson closed his week with an eight-over 80.
