Lydia Ko shares lead at weather-affected LPGA Coates Championship

World No 1 Lydia Ko shrugged off a late rules scare to earn a share of the third round lead before play was suspended at the Coates Golf Championship.

The world No 1 was only able to complete six holes of her third round during another weather-affected day at the Golden Ocala course, but still had time to pick up a solitary birdie to move alongside Ha Na Jang at the top of the leaderboard.

Jang, who had held a one-shot second round lead, posted an opening-hole birdie before dropping a shot at the next, with five players lurking one stroke behind.

Ko was left frustrated with the her putter after finishing her second round with a three-putt bogey and missing several birdie chances late in the round.

The teenager feared she may have moved her ball when she addressed it on the seventh green late in the day, but TV footage showed no movement.

"You just want to make sure before you putt it out," said the 10-times LPGA winner. "I've had times where it has moved before, so I just wanted to clarify things, especially when it's that dark.

"I've just got to stay positive with the putter, but sometimes you just have to take what's going, and it's not like every single one of them is not dropping."

Kim Kaufman briefly made it in to a share of the lead after four birdies over her first eight holes, but kicked of her back nine with a blemish to join Sei Young Kim, Jessica Korda, Haru Nomura and Lexi Thompson on six under.
