South Korea's Mirim Lee shot a two-under 69 to hold a share of top spot at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship alongside first-round leader Brooke Henderson.

The Canadian took a two-shot advantage into the second round but, in tough conditions at Sahalee Country Club, posted a 73 to fall back to two under.

And the pair were among a group of only five players under par at the halfway stage in Sammamish, Washington, in the season's second major championship.

Henderson birdied the third to move three strokes clear, but bogeys at the fourth and fifth undid all the 18-year-old's hard work.

Another bogey at the 10th saw her lead evaporate before going ahead again with a birdie at the 17th, but she gave it straight back at the final hole.

She told reporters: "I was one under through four, I guess, and was feeling pretty good. I just - I got a little too aggressive to a couple of pins early, which kind of cost me a couple of bogeys.

"But I just regrouped a little bit and started to hit to the middle of the greens, which helped me score on the back nine. I hit a lot of really good putts that just didn't fall. But I'm hoping that will change."
