WATCH: Lee Westwood's superb hole out for eagle from the fairway

Lee Westwood made an impressive start to his opening round at Oakmont, the highlight a superb eagle on the 14th hole.

The Englishman, playing alongside Luke Donald and chasing his maiden major victory, was among the earlier starters and began his round from the tenth hole.

Having birdied the par-five 12th, his third, Westwood went on to bogey the par-three 13th to sit at level par for the early part of his round.

He then sent his drive down the middle of the fairway on the 14th and followed the perfect tee shot with the perfect wedge which dropped straight into the hold to move him to -2.
