Lexi Thompson and In Gee Chun lead Meijer LPGA Classic

Lexi Thompson and In Gee Chun share the lead heading into the final round of the Meijer LPGA Classic in Michigan.

Halfway leader Thompson was joined by Korean rookie Chun during Saturday's round and they both ended the day on 15 under at Blythefield Country Club.

Sunday's finale lines up to be an exciting one, with 10 players within five shots of the lead, including current tour leader Lydia Ko.

Chun made two birdies on her front nine before exploding to life early on the run home, making four birdies in five holes from the 11th to close on Thompson.

She parred in for a round of 65 and that proved enough to match Thompson who was also bogey-free on Saturday.

The 21-year-old, who has been battling back pain, birdied the second, fifth and eighth to turn in 33 and picked up two more shots on the back-nine in a round of 66.

Another Korean player, Sei Young Kim, threatened to take the lead for the first 10 holes of her round as she made four birdies on the front nine and then an eagle at the 10th.

But Kim stalled there and made eight straight pars to finish with a round of 65 - she is one shot off the joint leaders with 18 holes remaining.

Spain's Carlota Ciganda is best of the European challenge on 13 under with China's Shanshan Feng one stroke further back.

And Ko carded a round of 67 to remain in contention, although it was a strange day for the teenager whose four birdies all came together in a run from the 10th.

She is tied for sixth place on 11 under alongside another Chinese player Xi Yu Lin.
