Former Australian cricketer Shane Warne wins the Hero Challenge with this putt

While Alex Levy emerged victorious from a group of eight European Tour stars in the inaugural Hero Challenge at The Grove, Shane Warne won the special celebrity competition in a blazing start to British Masters week.

Australian cricketing legend Warne, his former Ashes rival Kevin Pietersen, singer Brian McFadden and broadcaster Piers Morgan looked anything but calm and assured as they sized up the specially-constructed 156-yard par three flanked by floodlights and a huge crowd of over 2,000 people on a chilly evening in Hertfordshire.

After watching the pros show them how it's done, the shot tracker had to work hard to keep up with the tee shots of Morgan, Pietersen and McFadden before Warne steadied himself and managed to knock a solid iron onto the front-left portion of the green.

The Sky Sports commentator then stood back and watched his fellow competitors try, and fail, to find the putting surface with their second shots and, by the time it was his turn to play again, he had a number of putts to claim the victory.

Warne needed three stabs to find the cup, but it was more than enough to see off his rivals to earn the customary bottle of champagne from presenter Sarah Stirk.

As for Morgan? "He's still looking for his ball," shouted Pietersen as Warne gave his victory speech!
