Jim Furyk resorts to bare feet to avoid slipping up at Pebble Beach

Jim Furyk was concerned about slipping on wet wood after finding an awkward lie in a fairway bunker, so playing the shot in bare feet was the answer!

As the new US Ryder Cup captain, Jim Furyk is going to have to think fast and stay on his toes, which is exactly what he did in a bunker at Pebble Beach!

Furyk found an awkward spot in the sand after pulling his drive too far left on the 13th hole, his ball coming to rest inches short of a wooden walkway in the middle of the trap.

The adverse conditions throughout the week had made the walkway extremely slippery, and Furyk felt that he couldn't get a sound footing on the walkway while trying to get his ball on the green - 150 yards away.

So it was off with the shoes and socks, despite the cool conditions, although the veteran's creativity was not rewarded as he was unable to locate the putting surface despite appearing to make decent contact.
