Rickie Fowler gets in to bother after putting on to a sprinkler head during the final round

Rickie Fowler saw an ambitious putt find the wrong target on his way to an unusual bogey during the final round of the Honda Classic.

The American took a four-shot lead after a bogey-free display on Saturday at PGA National, before extending his advantage with a birdie at the par-five third early in his final round.

Fowler then got in to difficulty at the par-four fourth, where his second shot found the green but rolled off the dancefloor and down the slope towards the rough.

Although Fowler's ball stopped short of the thick stuff, it left him with a tricky up-and-down to maintain his blemish-free card.

Rather than chipping up the hill and towards the pin, Fowler elected to putt from the fringe but encountered a problem along the way!

Fowler's gutsy putt landed in the centre of a hole, but it was the middle of the sprinkler head on the edge of the green rather than the intended target.

After being given a drop close to the sprinkler, Fowler then tried to save par from off the green but saw his ball finish a foot away from the target.
