Jordan Spieth has called for more match play events to be added to the PGA Tour schedule and would like to see the format used for one of the majors.
Spieth features at this week's WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, his penultimate appearance ahead of his challenge for a second Green Jacket at Augusta.
Match play hasn't been used in majors since the 1957 PGA Championship, but Spieth would support using the format again in a future major.
"I think if you went around and asked everybody, they would thoroughly enjoy more match play," Spieth told the European Tour. "I think it would be a lot of fun if a major championship took on match play.
"I don't know how exactly you would do the format, maybe like this (the WGC). I think they used to do that way back.
"I think people really enjoy playing here. I think if it was every week that may change, but the fact that it's a change of pace and you get the opportunity to take chances and play aggressive is something the guys embrace."
Spieth has been grouped alongside Ryan Moore, Yuta Ikeda and Hideto Tanihara for the round-robin format in Texas, where he hopes to improve on last year's last-16 finish.
"In order to win a match play event, you've got to squeak out one or two wins where that wasn't very pretty," Spieth added. "Guys aren't running away from it.
"I'm not going to approach this week any different from last year because I did play it extremely well. I think last year, the only thing I would say, I got a little ahead of myself thinking I had to make too many birdies.
"I've got a tough group. I don't know much about two of my players, which is somewhat of a disadvantage to not know much about their games. It's going to be difficult just getting out of the group stage this year."
