The panel look back at Jordan Spieth's final round at the 146th Open at Royal Birkdale

Jordan Spieth experienced the full range of emotions on a remarkable final day of The 146th Open, and here we take a look back at how he won his third major title.

Spieth was widely expected to cruise to the finish line after putting together two flawless rounds of 65 either side of a 69 that earned him a three-shot lead over Matt Kuchar heading into the last day at Royal Birkdale.

But, having hinted on Saturday night that he was still haunted my his infamous meltdown at last year's Masters, Spieth triggered another possible nightmare as he bogeyed three of the first four holes.

Level with Kuchar at the turn, Spieth's chances of victory looked decidedly slim when he carved his drive miles right and had to take an unplayable lie, and it took an eternity to find a place to drop as he ended up on the practice range.

But, in the turning point of the tournament, he managed to limit the damage to a bogey with a sublime up-and-down, and he started an astonishing charge by almost holing his tee shot at 14 and set up a crucial birdie.

Spieth then holed a monster putt for eagle, another for birdie at 16, and he effectively sealed the deal with a composed pitch and putt to match Kuchar's birdie at the 17th.
