Cristie Kerr became America's record points scorer in the Solheim Cup after she partnered Lexi Thompson to victory in Saturday's morning foursomes.
Kerr, who has played in eight editions of the biennial event, overtakes Team USA captain Juli Inkster following her victory over the European pairing of Jodi Ewart Shadoff and Caroline Masson.
The experienced American, who has now won 19 points in her career, is now six points off the competitions all-time points record held by Europe's Dame Laura Davies, who competed in 12 Solheim Cups during her career.
The two-time major winner holed a clutch putt at the 18th in Friday's morning foursomes to salvage a valuable half point, alongside Thompson, against the English duo Mel Reid and Charley Hull.
The 39-year-old impressed once again with the putter on Saturday and secured victory for the American pairing with a birdie four at the par-five 15th to claim a convincing 5&3 win.
But Kerr played down her achievement in her post-match interview, insisting that an American victory mattered far more than any personal landmarks.
"I don't really care about that," she said when asked about the record. "Honestly, I never thought about that once. And that's just something to talk about. I just want to help our team win."
