Georgia Hall's Solheim Cup singles match against Paula Creamer was interrupted by a rogue sprinkler going off, and the match referee attempts to stem the tide with a brolly!

Georgia Hall had her momentum interrupted in bizarre circumstances at the Solheim Cup as a rogue sprinkler held up her singles clash against Paula Creamer.

Hall has enjoyed a memorable debut in the competition and is the only player from either team to play in all five sessions in Iowa, and she responded to going two down by chipping in for eagle at the fifth before adding a birdie at six to pull back to all square.

But as she was about to line up her putt for another win at the seventh, the green was suddenly awash with water as a sprinkler in the fringe came to life without warning.

The match referee attempted to stem the tide using an umbrella, and then her foot, but that did not have much effect as the spectators had an unscheduled shower although, as Dame Laura Davies observed, it would have been refreshing given the heat and humidity at Des Moines this week.
