Julian Suri claims maiden European Tour title at Made In Denmark

Julian Suri secured his maiden European Tour title with a four-stroke victory at the Made In Denmark.

The American posted a blemish-free 64 in glorious conditions at Himmerland Golf and Spa Resort, firing seven birdies to finish ahead of playing partner David Horsey.

Suri, already a winner this season on the Challenge Tour, took a one-shot lead but saw his advantage increased when overnight leader Horsey triple-bogeyed the 18th.

English trio Chris Paisley, Steve Webster and Ben Evans finished in a share of third spot, while former major champion John Daly claimed his first European Tour top-10 since 2012.

Horsey began the day with a two-shot lead but halved with a three-putt bogey at the first, as Suri birdied the second and rolled in from 10 feet at the next to grab the advantage.

The pair exchanged birdies at the fourth and seventh before Suri added another at the eighth to reach the turn two clear, only for Horsey to reply with successive gains from the 11th.

Both players pulled clear of the chasing pack by posting 10-foot birdies at the par-four 14th, with Suri draining a 25-footer at the 15th to edge back ahead.

Horsey saw his hopes ended when he lost his tee shot at the last in the trees and then hit his provisional in the water on his way to a seven on the par-four, as Suri closed with a par to increase his winning margin.

Paisley slipped away with three straight bogeys from the 11th but responded by birdieing three of his next four holes, only to drop a shot at the last and slip into the group on 12 under.

Webster also carded a bogey-five at the 18th and Evans closed his week with a five-under 66, while Open de Portugal champion Matt Wallace finished in a share of sixth.
