Justin Thomas enjoys a fortunate bounce off a cart path as he hammers an amazing 461-yard drive during the third round of the CJ Cup in Korea

Justin Thomas is regarded as one of the longer hitters on the PGA Tour, but even he would have been surprised to hit a drive measuring 461 yards!

Thomas arrived on the 12th tee during the third round at Nine Bridges lifted by a birdie at the 11th, and he fancied his chances of picking up another at the 598-yard par-five.

The TopTracer, and Thomas' reaction reveal his powerful low drive was leaking too far to the right, and the world No 4 would have been thinking of having to lay up from the rough.

But his ball missed the long grass and took a huge bounce off a cart path, trundled through the rough and onto the fairway before running out down the slope and almost catching up with the group in front, who would have thought they were safely out of range.

The monster drive was recorded at an incredible 461 yards and left him just 137 yards to the pin for his second, therefore reducing a hole measuring almost 600 yards to a drive and a lob-wedge!
