Lin Yuxin secured an invite to next year’s Masters and The Open with a three-shot victory at the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship in New Zealand.
Lin carded a birdie-eagle finish to post a six-under 65 at Royal Wellington Golf Club, pulling him clear of nearest challenger Andy Zhang.
China's Yechun Yuan birdied his last two holes to join Min Woo Lee in a share of third, with 2015 champion Jin Cheng eight strokes off the pace in fifth spot after matching Lin's 65.
"I'm very, very happy I got the chance to win this event and play two majors," Lin said. "I'm very proud of myself. It means a lot to me to play in the Masters and The Open next year. It's a great experience."
Beginning with a one-shot lead, Lin lost his advantage when playing partner Zhang birdied the first and third.
The pair exchanged gains at the fourth and sixth and Lin birdied the eighth to reach the turn in a share of the lead, only to hand Zhang back the advantage by beginning his back nine with a bogey.
Lin cancelled out a birdie-two at the 11th with a blemish at the next, allowing Zhang to double his lead by picking up a shot at the 13th.
The overnight leader responded by birdieing the 14th, as Zhang carded his only bogey of the day at the par-four next to leave the pair all-square with three holes to play.
Lin drove the par-four 17th green and two-putted for birdie to edge ahead, before smashing a 5-iron to six feet at the par-five last and roll in the eagle putt for victory.
