Former world No 1 Jiyai Shin overturned a three-stroke final-round deficit to claim a sixth-shot win and 50th career title at the ActewAGL Canberra Classic.

The 29-year-old fired an eight-under 64 during the final round at Royal Canberra to pull clear of overnight leader Minjee Lee, who stuttered to a closing 73.

Anne Van Dam topped the European interest and finished seven shots back in third spot ahead of Pernilla Lindbergh, with England's Holly Clyburn ending the week in fifth place.

"It was a good start to the year and I played some great shots so I want to take it to the next event," Shin said. "It feels amazing. I'm so excited I can't tell you."

Lee, looking to follow on from last week's victory at the Oates Vic Open, birdied the opening hole but then posted back-to-back bogeys from the fourth before cancelling out a gain at the seventh with successive bogeys over her next two holes.

The Australian responded to another shot at the 10th by birdieing the 12th, although found herself five back when Shin drained a 25-foot eagle at the par-five 15th.

Shin then got up-and-down from off the 18th green to claim a seventh birdie of the day and to complete victory, as Lee finished with an untidy bogey on the par-five.
