Inbee Park claims Arizona victory as Laura Davies shares second

Dame Laura Davies fell short in her bid to become the oldest winner in LPGA Tour history, as Inbee Park stormed to a five-shot victory at the Bank of Hope Founders Cup.

The Englishwoman posted a final-round 69 to finish in a share of second alongside Ariya Jutanugarn and Marina Alex, as Park posted a five-under 67 to secure her first LPGA Tour title since March 2017.

Davies began three strokes off the pace after a third-round 63, with the 54-year-old bouncing back from an opening-hole bogey on Sunday to chip in for eagle at the next and post successive gains around the turn.

The World Golf Hall of Famer, without an LPGA Tour victory since 2001, posted a close-range birdie at the par-five 15th, as Park pulled clear with four consecutive gains from the 12th and closed out a blemish-free card.

Davies held second spot on her own until a final-hole bogey, with Alex also dropping shot at the last and Jutanugarn posting a two-under 70 to also end the week on 14 under.
