Tony Finau had a moment to remember during the Masters Par 3 Tournament, but it almost became a moment to forget.
The American, who is making his debut at Augusta National this year, fired in a hole-in-one at the seventh hole, his ball landing on the edge of the green before rolling diagonally down the slope and in.
Finau then charged off down the slope as he celebrated in front of his watching family.
He turned to acknowledge the applause as he headed down the slope, only to fall over backwards and roll his left ankle, which he then appeared to pop back into position.
The 28-year-old hobbled back towards his family before collecting his ball from the hole, and although he was able to hit his tee shot to the eighth, he had to withdraw and went to hospital for x-rays.
The scans showed no break and Finau later said on Twitter he is optimistic of being able to tee-off on Thursday, when he is scheduled to play alongside Bernhard Langer and Yuta Ikeda.
