Rory McIlroy showed off his football skills ahead of the US Open with some keepy-uppies in the clubhouse at Shinnecock Hills.

With just a day to go until he tees off, and with the World Cup just around the corner, the Northern Irishman used his Instagram account to show he has talent with his feet as well as with his hands.

It was quite a brave thing for McIlroy to do, however, considering his history. The 29-year-old missed The Open in 2015, when he was defending champion, after rupturing an ankle ligament playing football with his friends less than two weeks before the tournament. Luckily, however, it looks like McIlroy came out of this one unscathed!
